BYD Sealion 7 launched in India at Rs 48.9 lakh: Two battery packs, 11 airbags and many more
Last month, we saw the plans of various automobile manufacturers for India at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo. Now, brands have started launching their new offerings! Finally, we have the first SUV launch from the Auto Expo – the BYD Sealion 7. But does this new SUV justify its price? Let’s take a closer look.
BYD has finally unveiled the Sealion 7 in India. The SUV has been launched at ₹51.59 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for its premium trim and ₹57.92 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for the performance trim. The new model is available in two variants, both equipped with an 82.56 kWh battery pack, but the top variant comes with an AWD (All-Wheel Drive) configuration.

For the Indian market, the BYD Sealion 7 is offered in four exciting colors: Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey, Aurora White, and Shark Grey. Deliveries for this SUV will begin from March 7, 2025.
The Sealion 7 is considered the SUV version of BYD’s Seal sedan. It boasts a premium aerodynamic design with a sleek front fascia. At the front, it features a sporty bumper and swept-back headlamps, similar to the BYD Seal. On the sides, the SUV sports a coupe-like roofline, flush door handles, and large 20-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, it gets connected LED taillamps and a sporty roof spoiler.

- The lower variant features a single-motor RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive) setup.
- The top variant comes with a dual-motor AWD (All-Wheel Drive) setup for enhanced performance.
In terms of range:
- The lower trim offers a claimed range of 567 km.
- The top variant delivers a claimed range of 542 km.
